B.Sc. B.Ed. (Integrated) is a 4-year programme offered by universities and teacher education institutions in India to develop competent science teachers with both subject mastery and professional teaching skills. The curriculum blends core science disciplines (commonly Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Botany/Zoology, and/or Computer Science as per institutional combinations) with education foundations such as psychology of learning, sociology and philosophy of education, and contemporary Indian education issues. A significant component is school-based practicum that includes micro-teaching, lesson planning, classroom management, assessment design, reflective journals and prolonged teaching internship in partner schools. Many institutions structure the programme across eight semesters, gradually increasing field exposure and teaching responsibility. On completion, candidates can pursue teaching positions in schools (government/private, as per recruitment rules), academic support roles, educational content development, and further studies such as M.Ed., M.Sc./M.A. (Education), or specialized certifications. The integrated format saves one academic year compared to doing B.Sc. and B.Ed. separately and offers early professional orientation toward teaching.
