B.A. Performing Arts is a multidisciplinary undergraduate degree in the Arts & Humanities stream that prepares students for performance-oriented and creative careers. Depending on the college/university, students may major in theatre, dance, music, or pursue a broader performing arts pathway that includes multiple forms. The curriculum typically covers performance techniques, voice and movement, improvisation, stagecraft, dramaturgy, choreography basics, music fundamentals, Indian and world performing arts history, aesthetics, and criticism. Training is usually studio-based with workshops, rehearsals, internal evaluations, and public productions/recitals each year. Many programmes also include electives such as media studies, cultural studies, event production, or digital content creation to improve employability. Graduates can work as performers, theatre artists, choreographers/dance professionals, voice artists, trainers, arts administrators, and content creators, or continue with postgraduate studies like M.A. in Theatre/Drama, MPA (Master of Performing Arts), or specialized diplomas in acting, direction, choreography, or music.
