Chartered Accountancy (CA) is a premier professional qualification in India offered by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI). The course builds strong expertise in accounting, auditing, taxation, financial reporting, and business laws. It combines rigorous examinations with mandatory practical training (articleship). CAs work across corporate finance, audit firms, consulting, taxation, and compliance roles.
Chartered Accountancy (CA) is a professional commerce qualification regulated by ICAI and widely regarded as one of India’s most valued credentials in accounting and finance. The CA journey typically includes three stages: CA Foundation, CA Intermediate, and CA Final, along with mandatory practical training (articleship) and specific self-paced modules as prescribed by ICAI. Students can enter after Class 12 via the Foundation route, or graduates/postgraduates can take the Direct Entry route. The curriculum covers financial accounting and reporting, auditing and assurance, direct and indirect taxation, corporate and other laws, strategic financial management, cost and management accounting, and ethics. The course emphasizes application-oriented learning through case studies, standards (like Accounting Standards/Ind AS), and practical exposure during articleship with CA firms or eligible organizations. On completion, candidates become members of ICAI and can practice as auditors/tax practitioners or work in industry roles such as finance controller, internal auditor, tax manager, or financial analyst.
