Diploma in Architecture (often offered as Architectural Assistantship) is designed to build core capabilities required to support architectural design and building execution. Over three years, students develop skills in architectural drawing, design studios, building construction methods, materials, and basic structural concepts, along with exposure to surveying and building services. The curriculum generally includes hands-on studio work, model-making, and computer-aided drafting (CAD), enabling learners to translate concepts into working drawings. Students also learn about building bye-laws, climate-responsive design basics, and documentation needed for small-to-medium projects under professional supervision. Many institutes include practical training, site visits, and a final-year project that simulates real-world architectural workflows. After completion, graduates are suited for entry-level roles in architecture and construction offices, or they may progress to advanced qualifications such as a B.Arch (subject to eligibility and institutional norms) or related degrees in interior design, construction management, or planning.
