Diploma in Printing Engineering is a practice-oriented programme designed to build strong technical skills for the printing and packaging industry. Over three years, students learn the end-to-end workflow: design and pre-press (layout, image processing, plate making), press operations (offset, flexo, gravure, screen and digital), and post-press processes (binding, finishing, cutting, lamination and die-cutting). The curriculum also includes fundamentals of printing materials such as paper, board, films, inks, coatings and adhesives, along with colour science, densitometry and colour management to ensure consistent print quality. Students are introduced to production planning, estimating, cost control, safety practices, and quality systems used in commercial and packaging printing. Practical lab work, workshops and industrial training help learners gain exposure to machines, troubleshooting and routine maintenance. On completion, diploma holders can take up technician and supervisory roles in print production, packaging, publishing, label printing and allied sectors, or pursue higher studies such as B.Tech/B.E. via lateral entry where applicable.
