Candidate must be a citizen of India for IAS and IPS; for IFS, must be a citizen of India. For other services, eligibility includes citizens of India and, as per UPSC rules, certain categories such as subjects of Nepal/Bhutan and specified persons of Indian origin (service-wise conditions apply). Educational qualification: a graduate degree from a recognized university (or equivalent). Final-year students can apply subject to producing proof of passing as per UPSC guidelines. Candidates must meet UPSC’s medical standards for certain services (especially for IFS and some posts).
