ITI Welder is a 1-year skill-based vocational course under the Engineering & Technology stream that trains students in welding and fabrication. The course focuses on practical workshop training along with essential theory such as welding metallurgy basics, joint design, material identification, electrode/filler selection and quality inspection. Students practise common operations like edge preparation, tack welding, fillet and butt welds in different positions, gas cutting, grinding and finishing. The curriculum also introduces workshop calculations, measuring tools, fitting practices, and occupational safety including PPE use, fire safety and safe handling of cylinders and electrical equipment. Educational Qualification

Candidates must have passed Class 8 (minimum) from a recognised board; some institutes may prefer or require Class 10. Admission is generally open to both male and female candidates subject to institute norms. Basic fitness for workshop training and adherence to safety requirements are expected.
