IIM Ahmedabad Releases CAT 2026 Cutoff at iima.ac.in; Check Admission Policy for PGP 2027-29
The Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIMA) has released the official admission policy and minimum CAT 2026 cutoffs for its flagship Post Graduate Programme (PGP) 2027-29 batch on its website, iima.ac.in. The criteria apply to candidates appearing for CAT 2026, scheduled for November 29, 2026.
As per the policy, the minimum qualifying cutoffs remain unchanged from the previous cycle. General and EWS candidates need 95 overall percentile with 85 in each section (VARC, DILR, and QA). NC-OBC requires 90 overall and 80 sectional, SC needs 85 overall and 75 sectional, while ST requires 75 overall and 65 sectional. Relaxed cutoffs apply for PwD candidates in each category.
Shortlisting for the Analytical Writing Test (AWT) and Personal Interview (PI) is based on a Composite Score, giving 65% weight to the normalised CAT percentile and 35% to the normalised Application Rating (AR). The AR is calculated from Class 10, Class 12, and graduation percentages (using a common rating scale), full-time work experience, and gender diversity points (3 points for non-male candidates).
Candidates are normalised within 20 undergraduate disciplines for fairness. After AWT and PI, the Final Composite Score is computed as 50% normalised PI + 10% normalised AWT + 40% normalised Composite Score (combining CAT and AR).
Eligibility requires a bachelor’s degree with at least 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/PwD). Candidates must be 19 years or older by June 30, 2027. Shortlists are expected in the second week of January 2027, with offers likely in April 2027.
Aspirants should visit iima.ac.in for the complete policy document and prepare thoroughly, as actual shortlist cutoffs for the General category typically exceed 99 percentile.
